I’ve begun to get a little bored of uploading photos here, I have such a backlog at the moment. Add to that the fact that feedback seems to have dried up somewhat and I’m struggling to be bothered to upload more.

Anyway, I’m dragging myself up to post something, so here’s a few portraits from the studio. A while ago I uploaded the first half of my photoshoot with Sophie which was a little bit of a mix between a fashion photography lady gaga glam mix and rough and ready rock and roll.

Well the second half of that shoot is a little bit more gentle. It’s more parisian boudoir I suppose. We redecorated our bedroom a couple of weeks ago, so I got Sophie round to give the purple walls something to look at! I think the mix is perfect, but then I’m biased.

Verdict?

The models I’ve worked with over the years will probably all tell you different things about working with me, but I imagine one thing that will get repeated a bit is the fact that I never really stick to the idea we started with.

That’s certainly the case with this photoshoot of Zoe. We started working on the idea of someone carrying their virginity around as if they were tied to their childhood before spinning off wildly into ‘Mindless Self Indulgence’ album titles (prizes for the first person the get the link).

So the first half of the photoshoot started a little bit like this…

Zoe was a really interesting model to work with, and certainly someone I’d like to work with again some day.

Anyway, the second half of the photoshoot went a little off topic:

Am I the only one that always thought it was odd that Dr. Frankenstein started off by making a 7ft tall guy? Personally, I’d have gone sex slave, then home help. Although taking another look at the orignal film, maybe he was just both

I love playing with images that are a little bit weird, a little on the dark side. It’s friggin easy to stick a a good looking girl or guy in front of a camera and take a photo. I’ll always prefer creating an image that engages people in more ways than just getting them to jerk off. Not that there’s anything wrong with that – just think about the artistic side of it while you do.

So here are a few photos from different shoots that are a little different.

This was one of my favourite photoshoots ever. It was something different, something a bit dark and dirty and yet very sexy at the same time. It helps that Dannie is good fun to work with and a very professional model.

This was a university bathroom and we just turned up, started shooting and left – a couple of builders turned up half way through the nude photoshoot and were so embarrassed they ran straight out again.

I’ve never quite understood the whole toliet fetish thing, I mean I get the fact that it’s seeing something private – more private than sex for some people, but it’s not something I’m that faffed about personally!

I found this dummy/puppet at the side of a railroad near Southampton while doing a photoshoot. I couldn’t throw it away, but I’ve yet to fix it up, so it tends to randomly appear in different photoshoots over the years and currently sits in the loft of our flat in London. She/he doesn’t have a name yet and is bound to feature in future photoshoots, so any naming suggestions are welcome!

These were taken on a photoshoot near Canary Wharf in an empty flat. The model, FIona did really well as she was nude covered in these awful dead roses. I’d love to redo this shoot with a bottle of vodka, a Roxy Music album and a lot more roses to really bring out a darker more intimate side to the shoot. I suppose you could call this fashion photography- I’d buy the shoes from the top photo anyway!
